Man injured after police pursuit

HAYTI HEIGHTS -- A Caruthersville man was seriously injured following a pursuit by the Hayti Police Department.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 7:08 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 84, one mile west of Hayti Heights, when the westbound vehicle driven by Matthew B. Crowson, 30, was being pursued and failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the roadway, went airborne and struck a ditch.

Crowson was first transported by ambulance to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital and then to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center by Air Evac.
