HAYWOOD CITY -- Major Daniel, 59, died Jan. 19, 2008, at the home of his former wife.
Born Sept. 24, 1948, in Wardell, to the late Pink and Willie Ward Daniel, he was a graduate of Bell City High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War, and a member of Morley VFW No. 5368.
He was married to Edna Fort Daniel who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Major Daniel Jr. of St. Louis and Martin Daniel of Haywood City; four daughters and a son-in-law, Connie and Mike Hamilton, Catina Daniel, Cassandra Daniel and Contessa Daniel of Haywood City; two brothers, Luther Lee and George Daniel of Chicago; two sisters, Elizabeth Lee of Homestown and Ruby Giles of Maywood, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Devine Temple True Church of God in Oran with Michael Blissett, pastor, officiating.
Burial with full military rites will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
