BLOOMFIELD -- Lonnie E. Taylor, 82, died Feb. 27, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 15, 1925, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., son of the late Forest and Nora Coates Taylor, he had lived in the Bloomfield and Wappapello areas most of his life. He and his wife had worked at the Stoddard County Children's Home for 13 years, and he was a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church in Dexter.
On Nov. 15, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Dolly Pearcy, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Dennis Taylor of Bloomfield, Bruce Taylor of Wappapello, Mark Taylor of Neosho and Steve Taylor of Huntsville, Texas; two brothers, Pete Taylor of Rockford, Ill., and Bob Taylor of Wappapello; two sisters, Colleen Hada of Rockford, Ill., and Ruby Parks of Sikeston; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Taylor Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Mike Foster of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
