Dennis Ponder

SIKESTON -- Dennis Richard Ponder, 68, died Feb. 23, 2008, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 21, 1939, in St. Louis, he had also lived in Kansas City, Mo., and Muncie, Ky., where he was a member of the Stony Point Christian Church. He had been honorably discharged from the Marine Corps Reserve and for 22 years had worked in credit management. He also worked in the cable business for 17 years.

On March 2, 1964, in Kansas City, he married Terry Anne who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, David Wayne Ponder; two daughters, Denise Anne Green and Ruth Anne Ponder; two brothers, Charles Ponder and David Ponder; one sister, Susan Hill; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard Lyday; one brother, Bob; and one sister, Faye.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at 11 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.

Burial will follow at the Amity Cemetery.
