Harvey Sizemore Jr.
POPLAR BLUFF -- Harry L. Sizemore Jr., 86, formerly of Sikeston, died Dec. 18, 2007, at St. Francis Medial Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 22, 1921, in Kewanee, to the late Harvey L. and Margaret Brasher Sizemore Sr., he was a member of Poplar Bluff Lion's Club and had retired as an assistant director for the Poplar Bluff Housing Authority. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service, which included serving in the World War II Pacific campaign and the occupation of Japan. He was of the Baptist belief.
On Feb. 22, 1941, in Sikeston, he married Frances A. Edmondson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters and a son-in-law, Cherry Hencken of St. Charles, Fran Berry of Pittsburg, Kan., and Shelley and Daniel Moore of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Lucille Martin of Bunker, Ill., Virginia Martin of Sacramento, Calif., and Sybil Knight of Harrisburg, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Smith, Christine Smart and Helen Oliver; and one son-in-law, Edward Berry.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services at 1 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The Rev. Earl Edmondson will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie.
