CHAFFEE --Leeada Marie Mier Sheeley, 75, died at 12:59 p.m. May 27, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 4, 1931, at Caney, daughter of the late Benjamin Joseph and Ludwina Katherine Westrich Mier, she owned Leeada's Department Store in Chaffee from from 1961 to 1972. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, the Daughters of St. Ambrose, the Ladies Auxiliary of Chaffee VFW Post 3127 and the Chaffee Historical Society.
On May 15, 1956, she married Donald Sheeley, who survives of the home in Chaffee.
Other survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Rhonda Sheeley of Cape Girardeau; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Rick Gadberry and Sara and Charles Hemingway, both of Chaffee; a brother, Leroy J. Mier of Oran; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. The Rev. Ralph Duffner will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
