ESSEX - Paul Jerome Findley, 89, died May 28, 2007, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Nov. 9, 1917, in Russellville, Ark., son of the late Emmett and Mae Ramsey Findley, he had lived in Lepanto, Ark., before moving to Essex in 1945. He was a farmer and a member of the Bird's Corner Assembly of God Church.
On Oct. 23, 1937, in Leachville, Ark., he married Zelma Boyd who preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 2005.
Also preceding him in death were two sons, Jerry Findley and James Warren Findley; four brothers, Jack Findley, Bobby Findley, Pleas Findley and Freddie Findley; and three sisters, Sonea Creel, Gladys Brinkley and Mildred Boyd.
Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Mott of Essex; one brother, Ted Findley of Dacula, Ga.; six sisters, Sybil Ragsdale of Memphis, Tenn., Orpha McGarrity of Peoria, Ariz., Opalene Hartsfield of Conway, Ark., Jean Tilley of Plano, Texas, Helen Brown of Essex and Margie Harbin of Savannah, Tenn.; and one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Revs. Dale Gregory of Puxico, James Johns of Greenbriar and Mike Brown of Sikeston will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
