BELL CITY -- Alex "Hondo" Sauceda, 72, formerly of Oran, died at 1:11 a.m. Nov. 1, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Sept. 26, 1933, in Waco, Texas, son of the late Susie Valdex and Vidal Sauceda Sr., he was a retired farmer.
On July 22, 1959, he married Johnnie Katherine Canady who preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1997. He then married Linda O'Hara on Oct. 9, 2004, and she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Steve Sauceda and Denny Sauceda of Oran; two daughters, Lena McAlister and Kathy Taylor of Scott City; one stepson, Chad Cantrell of Bell City; one stepdaughter, Tomi Phillips of Bell City; five brothers, Elso Sauceda, John Sauceda and Vidal Sauceda Jr. of Oran and Raymond Sauceda and Tom Romas of Sikeston; seven sisters, Josephine Moreno of Nixon, Texas, Josie Turner and Sandra Turner of Oran, Dora Graham of Sikeston, Lupe Freeze and Mary Brown of Holly Springs, Miss., and Betty Guzman of Morley; and eight grandchildren, one stepgrandchild and three great-grandchildren.
One sister and four brothers also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. today until time for services at 1 p.m. at Amick-
Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. The Rev. Trish Eskew will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Friend Cemetery at Oran.
Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Mansker, Donald Turner, Burl Turner, Tom Romas, Freddie Cortez and Monty Shaffer.
