DEXTER - Anna Laura Vails, 85, died Aug. 23, 2007, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born May 27, 1922, in Corinth, Miss., to the late David and Lydia Newman Cox, she had lived in the Dexter and Essex area all her life. In 1986, she moved to Dexter and attended Vinson General Baptist Church near Essex.
Survivors include: three sons, Darrell Vails of Jackson, Tenn., Junior Vails of Dexter and Michael Vails of Morehouse; five daughters, B.J. Vails of Cape Girardeau, Peggy Rehkop of St. Charles, Shirley Blair of Columbia, Kemberly Neppl of Naperville, Ill., and Sheila Vails of Dexter; two brothers, Fred Cox of Danville, Va., and Travis Cox of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren and 17 great-
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Thurman Cox, David Cox, James Cox, Howard Cox and Truman Cox.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
