CHARLESTON -- Creacy Gary Gillespie, 66, died Jan. 9, 2008, at her home.
Born Dec. 18, 1941, in rural East Prairie, to the late Leroy and Lydia Spellers Gary Sr., she was a lifelong resident of Missouri. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Charleston and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She married Theodore Gillespie Jr. who preceded her in death.
One daughter, five brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: five sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin L. and Gloria Gillespie, Delmar and Angela Gillespie, Dennis and Stacy Gillespie, Richard and Shannon Gillespie and Leonard and Christy Gillespie of Charleston; three daughters and one son-in-law, Lydia M. Gillespie of Charleston, Valerie and Andrew Rogers of Columbus, Ga., and Velma L. Gillespie of Irving, Texas; three brothers, Levorn Gary of Joliet, Ill., Leroy Gary Jr. of Charleston and Raymond Gary of Chicago; two sisters, Julia B. Gary and Dorothy Gary of Charleston; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Bowden Civic Center with Roy Leblac officiating.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
