Road woes continue for Sikeston Bulls

Wednesday, July 5, 2006

FARMINGTON -- The Sikeston Bulls continued a downward spiral, suffering their 10th loss in 11 games.

The Farmington Firebirds hammered the Bulls 13-1 on Tuesday as Austin McDowell took the loss.

Further details were unavailable at press time.

On Monday, Sikeston blew a four-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning to drop an 11-10 decision to the Tennessee T's.

The Bulls scored two runs in the top of the inning to go up 10-7, but closer Dan Robbins was unable to stave off the T's.

Robbins, the Bulls top reliever, was charged with four runs, two earned in 2/3 innings.

Sean Bard, Tyler Martin, Tyson Mulvaney, Nate Blum and Michael Skinner had two hits apiece for the Bulls who outhit the T's 13-9.

Bard pounded two doubles and scored three runs. Adam Darby led the run production with two RBIs.

Sikeston (8-17) fell deeper into the Kit League cellar, 9.5 games off the pace of the league-leading Owensboro Oilers, 2.5 behind fifth-place Tennessee.

The Bulls complete a three-game away series with the Firebirds with games scheduled today and Thursday.
