Born Aug. 20, 1937, in Dexter, Mo., son of the late Moy Wray and Hortense "Tensey" Farmer Davis, he was a former machine operator for Lincoln Engineering in St. Louis, Mo. and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1957 until 1964.
On Sept. 14, 1962, in Dexter, he married Sue Davenport, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Howard Wray Davis Jr. of Woodlawn; one daughter, Karen Jean Hicks of Ramsey; one sister, Joyce McQuary of Dexter; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Toby Sue Kutz; and one brother, Donald Davis.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. Dave Trover will officiate
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
