Ute Childers

Born March 25, 1942, in Jagerndorf Sudetenland, Germany, to the late Werner and Herta Ammicht Awolin, she was a member of Eagles Aerie 3319 Ladies Auxiliary and a longtime resident of Sikeston, adopting numerous families in America. Before retirement, she had been employed by Brown Shoe Company.

Survivors include: three brothers, Karl Heinz Steinberg, Gunnar Steinberg and Ingo Steinberg.

Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.

A private disposition of cremains will occur at a later date.
