Goose McMIllen

EAST PRAIRIE -- Velma Ruth "Goose" Northern McMillen, 48, died at 6:05 a.m. July 13, 2007, in the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Born Aug. 31, 1958, in Mississippi County, to the late Marshall Lee and Leoma Pearl Northern Dean, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie Andrew and Fayetta McMillen of East Prairie and Jason Lee and Wendy Northern of Walkertown, N.C.; one stepson, Ashley Tubbs of East Prairie; one brother, Robin Dean of Springfield; one sister, Reba Northern of Blanchard, Okla.; four grandchildren; and her companion, Jimmy Blasingain of Walkertown.

In addition to her parents, two brothers preceded her in death.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Denver Glenn officiating.
