SIKESTON - Robert Bridges, 61, died July 15, 2007, at his home.
Born April 19, 1946, in Cottage Hills, Ill., he was the son of Gladys Arnold Bridges, who survives of Sikeston, and the late Orvile Bridges. He recently retired from Noranda Aluminum after 32 years of service. He was a member of Sikeston Eagles 3319. He enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing and wildlife, with his friends.
On Nov. 14, 1966, at Alton, Ill., he married Dianne F. Wiegand who survives of the home in Sikeston.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by: one daughter, Tamara (Bridges) Tisdale of Benton; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Summer Bridges of Morley; four sisters, Dorothy Waltz of Bloomfield, Judy Sherwood of Morehouse, Karen Turner of East Prairie and Barbara Jean Wimberly of Las Vegas; five brothers-in-law and their wives, David and Charlotte Wiegand and Dennis Wiegand of East Alton, Art Wiegand of White Hall, Ark., Larry and Linda Wiegand of Bethalto, Ill., and Terry Wiegand of Hartford, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Marge Wiegand of Morley; and three grandchildren, Blake Tisdale of Benton and Kelley Bridges and Taryn Bridges of Morley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his father, one sister, Shirley Layton; and one brother, Charles L. Bridges, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
