DEXTER - Carl Otto Jarrell, 77, died Oct. 27, 2006, at his home.
Born Feb. 27, 1929, in Bloomfield, son of the late Elijah Monroe and Bessie Bell Hopkins Jarrell, he lived all his life in Dexter and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.
On Oct. 17, 1953, he married Virginia Furgeson, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard Boyd and Karen Jarrell of Lawton, Okla., and Gordon Wayne Jarrell and Scotty Lee Jarrell of Dexter; one daughter, Jennette Yvonne Davis of Dexter; one brother, Kenneth Jarrell of Dexter; one sister, Ruthy Ann Ricketts of Walhalla, Mich.; and seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one in infancy, Kipplinn Boyd Jarrell; and two sisters, Fay Strouts and Francis Carr.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Herb Zaricor, American Legion Chaplain of Poplar Bluff, David Hasse of Watervlite, Mich., and Keith Meyers of Dexter will officiate.
Burial with full military rites provided by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team will follow at 11 a.m. in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at Bloomfield.
