DEXTER - George M. Quinton, 83, died Oct. 26, 2006, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.

Born Nov. 28, 1922, in Snowdenville, to the late William Wesley and Iola Fletcher Quinton, he lived all his life in Dexter where he was a school bus driver for 40 years for Dexter Public Schools and member of the I.O.O.F. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and of the Baptist belief.

In 1943, in Piggott, Ark., he married Wilma Imogene Shell, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four sons, Roger Quinton and James Quinton of Dexter, Bob Quinton of Grandin and Gary Quinton of Sikeston; one daughter, Ellen Rickman of Albany, Ore.; one sister, Shirley Stewart of Piedmont; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Mike Foster of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
