SIKESTON - William Harold Yarbrough, 74, died at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 26, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 6, 1931, in Lamar, Ark., to the late William Franklin and Birdie Ozella Poague Yarbrough, at an early age he went to work for Mr. Fred Steward at Steward Steel Supply in Sikeston. He worked there for 12 years before going to work in St. Louis for Sligo Steel Co. where he also worked for 12 years. In 1975, he founded and was owner/operator of Yarbrough Sales Company Inc. He was an active member of Shady Acres Church of Christ for 52 years and had served as Deacon of the Benevolence Ministry for over 40 years.

On Feb. 27, 1954, he married Delois "Dee" Lawrence who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son, William Harold Yarbrough II of Sikeston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Bobby McTigue of East Prairie and Kim and David DeHart of Sikeston; and one brother, Jesse Yarbrough of Sikeston. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brooke McTigue Haberlock, Marshall Prentice McTigue, Cullen Edward DeHart and Anna Catherine DeHart; and two great-granddaughters, Lillith James Haberlock and Hannah Rebekah Haberlock.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Yarbrough and Bill Yarbrough; and one daughter-in-law, Mary Margaret Story Yarbrough.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Shady Acres Church of Christ, 1440 Ables Road in Sikeston, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pat Hogan and Johnny Hester, ministers of the church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: John McMillen, Larry Kellett, Benny Eason, Lee Brooks, Bruce Lawrence, Gene Hosey, Dewey Heppe and Kenny Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Don Moore, Charles Ulmer, Jerry Terrell, Edsel Wylie, Billy Littleton, Mac Bain, Robert Hays, Bennie Hesselrode, Chester Bell, Joe Karnes, Jim McGee and Vernon Smith.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
