MALDEN -- Willie Lee Smith, 80, died March 20, 2007, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Born July 27, 1926, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Darnell and Nollie Mae Clark Nelson, she was affiliated with Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church in Malden.
On March 24, 1953, in Stoddard County, she married Robert Lee Smith who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1995.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Eugene Smith; one daughter, Beverly Smith; and four brothers, L.C. Nelson, Lee Keepers, Henry B. Nelson and Lindell Moore.
Survivors include: seven sons and four daughters-in-law, Charles and Kim Pulliam, Willie and Ada Pulliam and Ronald Smith of Indianapolis; Gary Hill of Terre Haute, Ind., Robert and Linda Smith Jr. of Poplar Bluff, Dale and Janice Smith of Danville, Ill., and Harold Smith of Malden; five daughters and two sons-
in-law, Betty Smith of Champaign, Ill., Barbara and Joe Versie of Jonesboro, Ark., Patricia Triplett of Chicago, Edna and Keith Winbush of Tacoma, Wash., and Nollie "Cookie" Smith of Richmond, Va.; four brothers, Darrell W. Nelson of Sikeston, Lee Nelson of Indianapolis, Johnson Nelson of Peoria, Ill., and Dale Nelson of Minneapolis; one sister, Ophelia Nelson of Dalton, Ill.; and 41 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. The Revs. Otis Hawes and Gene Perkins will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden.
