SIKESTON - Ida S. Wallace, 89, died Dec. 19, 2007, at her home.
Born June 9, 1918, in Sikeston, to the late Cullen Lee and Dora Kappler Oliver, she had worked for the International Shoe Co. in Sikeston. She was a cook for the Sikeston Public Schools and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston.
On Oct. 1, 1938, in Benton, she married Marvin R. "Buddy" Wallace, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Richard N. "Sonny" Wallace of Wichita, Kan., Don A. Wallace of Avondale, Ariz. and James D. Wallace of Jackson; one daughter, Sharon Taylor of Malden; one brother, Eugene Oliver of Sikeston; and 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Gonzales; one son, Marvin Wallace; and four brothers and three sisters.
Services were conducted today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Bouldrey, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiated.
Burial followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Billie C. Taylor III, Emory Adam Oliver, John Southern, Clyde Lee Launius and John Scarbrough.
