O'FALLON - Lowell Hawkins, 94, formerly of Sikeston, died May 29, 2006, at Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon.
Born Sept. 23, 1911, in Obion County, Tenn., son of the late Dock and Pearl Roberts Hawkins, he was a United States Navy veteran. A member of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, he had been a farmer for many years before retiring.
On Dec. 8, 1934, he married Vera F. Robbs, who preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2003.
Two brothers, Ditman Hawkins and Clarence Hawkins; and four sisters, Odell Hawkins, Cleora Woods, Marveline Scott and Oma Wagley, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one son, David Hawkins of St. Charles; one daughter, Alyce Cobb of Wentzville; and four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Larry Smith, associate pastor of Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
