BERTRAND -- Martha Jean Mixon, 85, died April 28, 2007, at her daughter's home.
Born Oct. 12, 1921, in Shuqualak, Miss., to the late James and Alice Lockett Brookshine, she had lived in Charleston since 1967. She was a member of International Deliverance Outreach Church in Chicago.
Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, C.W. and Cherlene Mixon of Charleston and Charlie and Jessie Mixon, Willie D. and Mary Mixon and Willie and Mary Cobbins Jr. of Chicago; two daughters and sons-in-law, Daisy and Bruce Brown of Sikeston and Gloria and Aaron Evans of Bertrand; a niece whom she raised, Lue Alice Lyons of Charleston; and 19 grandchildren, nine great-
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Avenue Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Charleston. Linda C. Sherell of Chicago will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
