CHAFFEE - Virgie Mary Miles, 88, died at 4:58 p.m. Oct. 2, 2006, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 27, 1918, at Chaffee, daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Nellie Jane Skelton Houseman, she was a retired machine operator from Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee.
On June 24, 1939, she married Harley S. Miles, who preceded her in death on March 20, 1985.
Five brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Gary J. Miles of El Paso, Texas, Jack W. Miles of Seattle and Stephen Miles of Clinton; four daughters, Jane Terry of Wilderness, Jean Milam of Oran, Nancy Jones of Marble Hill and Kathleen Coatney of Morehouse; one brother, James Houseman of Table Rock; two sisters, Juanita Tanner of Tucson, Ariz., and Beatrice Margrabe of Cape Girardeau; and 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Darrin Larkin will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Don Hudgens, Darin Hudgens, Lance Milam, Cam Milam, Tom Coatney and Jeremy Miles.
