MALDEN - Joyce Belle Causbie Lape, 83, died Oct. 29, 2006, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born Dec. 28, 1922, in Ash Flat, Ark., daughter of the late Fred and Eva Haynes Causbie, she was a housewife and was affiliated with the Dexter First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

On March 3, 1939, in Piggott, Ark., she married Amil Stewart Lape who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1998.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Causbie; and one sister, Nellie Welch.

Survivors include: two daughters, Wanda Thomason and Norma Hartsfield of Malden; one brother, Roy Causbie of Kennett; four sisters, Mattie Carroll of Kennett, Willeen Tuggle of St. Louis, Dorothy Nash of Holcomb and Bessie Henson of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and five grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time for services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Vaughn Wright and David McElwain will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
