EAST PRAIRIE -- Reba Vandover, 94, died at 3:40 a.m., Oct. 28, 2006, at her home.
Born March 21, 1912, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Thomas and Belle Etheridge Gardner, she lived most of her life in East Prairie where she was a member of the Nelson United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Sikeston Chapter of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
On Dec. 21, 1935, at Sikeston, she married Harry W. Vandover who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1981.
Three sisters, Ludene Edwards, Ruth Stack and Grace Greaney; and one brother, Gene Gardner, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sisters, Betty Wittman Houston of Missouri City, Texas, and Blance Beeler of Cairo, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. Tuesday until time for services at 2 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Dan Usher will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Hogan, Bill Ponder, Joe Sorrells, Mike Bryant, John Joe Bryant and Steve Hodges.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Bradley, Gene Ponder, Bill Adkison, L.F. LaPlant, Jack Emory, J.B. Cooper, L.D. Davis and Danny Wolford.
