MOREHOUSE - Larry James Coatney, 58, died June 15, 2007, at VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

Born Aug. 1, 1948, in Morehouse, son of Lilie Whittemore Coatney of Morehouse and the late T.L. Coatney, he was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War in 1968-69. He was a tow motor driver for Arvin Automotive in Dexter.

On Dec. 20, 1974, he married Kathleen Miles who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Thomas Larry Coatney of Morehouse; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori Danielle and Lawrence Lewis Jr. of Bertrand; and three sisters, Ruth Ozment, Carol Bishop and Jean Harris of Sikeston.

In addition to his father, one sister, Janet Casey, also preceded him in death.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Graveside services with full military rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Beck, Norman Crumpecker Sr., Norman Crumpecker Jr., Andy Barnes, Greg Barnes, Ralph Christopher Simpson, Stephen Taylor and Mark Martinez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Barnes Sr. and Gerald Williams.
