KINGSPORT, Tenn. -- Helen Keegan, 83, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Aug. 27, 2006, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Springfield, Mo., daughter of the late William and Nora Light Green, she lived in Charleston for most of her life. In 2005, she moved to Kingsport where she attended the First Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and later as a Head Start teacher for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Sebright.
Survivors include: one son, James Edward DeMann Jr. of Kingsport; one daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Jimmie Freeman of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Cortland Freeman and Melissa DeMann; and two great-
grandchildren, Cortney Freeman and Chynna Freeman.
Services were conducted Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes in Kingsport with the Rev. Charles Huff officiating.
Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
