CAPE GIRARDEAU - John D. McClard Sr., 88, died May 30, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Pocahontas, son of the late Albert and Ora Unger McClard, he served in the United States Army during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith and was an avid fisherman.
On Sept. 15, 1950, in Old Appleton, he married Addie "Billie" Craft, who preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1986.
Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons, the Rev. J.D. McClard and wife, Kim, of Sikeston and Tom McClard and wife, Kim, of Oak Ridge; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
A graveside service with full military rites provided by the Missouri Honor Team will be held at 11 a.m. at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
