SIKESTON -- Ronald "Ron" Newcomb, 54, formerly of Charleston, died at 2 p.m. May 31, 2006, at his home in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 31, 1951, in Cairo, Ill., he was the son of Mary Lou Bruenderman Newcomb, who survives of Charleston, and the late Clarence Halton Newcomb. In 1957, he moved with his family to Chicago. Returning to Charleston in the 1960s, he was a 1969 graduate of Charleston High School, and at that time, he went to work for the Mississippi County Bowling Lanes until 1977. He then worked for Meyer Supply Co. until 1988, at which time he became employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue until his retirement in 2005. He was of the Catholic belief.
On Oct. 26, 1974, he married Diane Rolwing who survives of the home in Sikeston.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Newcomb of Seattle and Kevin Newcomb of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Danny Newcomb of Cape Girardeau and Chris Newcomb of Charleston; and two sisters, Donna Dwyer of Tinley Park, Ill., and Karen Pullen of Charleston.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Monsignor Richard Rolwing serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Bruenderman, Mike Keen, David Bruenderman, M.J. "Junior" Hahn Jr., Rob Dwyer and Rodney Dwyer.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Albert Rolwing, Larry Rolwing, Terry Cole, Cindy Cole, Paulette Lenderman and Sharon Bryant.
