ST. LOUIS - Dorothy Rose Carr Wadley, 82, formerly of Charleston, died at 1 a.m. May 31, 2006, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Chesterfield.
Born Feb. 6, 1924, in Charleston, to the late Leo Sylvester and Catherine Maude Perkins Carr, she had lived since the 1950s in St. Louis, where she was employed as a bookkeeper with General Motors Co. and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and their Women's Guild. She was a former member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston.
On Sept. 30, 1947, she married Benjamin Lee Wadley, who preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1989.
Four brothers, Robert Carr, William Carr, Edward Carr and David Carr; and three sisters, Catherine Baker, Loretta Gier and an infant sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Edward Wadley of Easton, Md., Mark Carr Wadley of Oakville, Ontario, Canada and Steven Craig Wadley of St. Louis; two daughters, Darla Stipanovich of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada and Shauna Waeltermann of Gulf Port, Miss.; three brothers, Fred Carr of Florissant, James Carr of Columbia and Glennon Carr of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia Lynch and Ruth Ann Telker of Charleston; and 12 grandchildren and six great-
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home, where prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. The Rev. Scott Sunnenburg, pastor, will serve as Celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
