One arrested after standoff

SIKESTON -- One man was arrested Tuesday after a report of a robbery led to a standoff on Shelby Street.

According to Sikeston Department of Public Safety Director Drew Juden, officers responded to a report of a robbery at 1310 Shelby St at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday. The report concerned an assault with a weapon with no apparent injuries.

Upon arrival, a perimeter was established by patrol officers and the DPS Special Operations team. After gathering vital information concerning the robbery, officers at the scene arrested the adult male. During the investigation, one 12-

gauge shotgun was recovered.

The name of the individual arrested is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges from the Scott County Prosecutor's office.
