Estes wins fifth BassBusters tournament of the season

LAKE?BARKLEY, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their fifth tournament of the year on June 24th with the weigh-in at Devil's Elbow ramp on Lake Barkley.

Mike Estes won the tournament with a six fish limit weighing 16 lbs. 3 oz. Mitch Allen was second with a six fish limit weighing 14 lbs. 4 oz. and John Bollinger was third with four fish weighing 9 lbs. 4 oz. Ty Garrett won the "Lucky Drawing."

The day was overcast with light rain and temperatures in the low 80's which made for a perfect day on the water. The top finishers used a variety of patterns from shallow grass to deep ledges to catch their fish.

Leven Cox moved into the lead in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 1,028 points. Leon Miller is second with 878 points and Stan Pace is third with 873 points.

The club travels to Kentucky Lake for a tournament out of KenLake Marina on July 8th.
