ARNOLD - Virgie C. Poe, 81, formerly of Portageville, died July 27, 2007, at her home.

Born Nov. 27, 1925, at Sturdivant, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Bryant.

Survivors include: one son, John Poe; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Alan Straub; one brother, Raymond Bryant; three sisters, Vernie Pulley, Katherine Phillips and Freda Call; four grandchildren; and a special friend, Judy Averbeck.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Herbert Bryant and Billy Bryant; and two sisters, Pauline Watts and Sharon Poe.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bethany United Methodist Church , 1608 Hill Top Rd. in Columbia , Ill .

Forever Oak Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
