BLOOMFIELD?- A Saturday accident in rural Stoddard County that left two dead, now leaves one man facing manslaughter charges.
Jason M. Merrill, 21 of Wappapello has been charged with two counts of the class b felony of involuntary manslaughter in the first degree, one count of the class c felony of assault in the second degree and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Merrill was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging him with a probation violation.
With two prior convictions for the class b felony of second-degree burglary, he is being charged as a prior and persistent offender. If convicted, a class b felony with enhanced punishment holds a punishment of not less than 10 years and not more than 30.
Bond has ben set at $175,000 and he remains in jail at this time.
