SIKESTON - Wallace M. "Cotton"?Nelson, 77, a lifelong resident of Sikeston, died Aug. 3, 2007.
Born Dec. 19, 1929, in Sikeston, son of the late Walter and Ethel Duke Nelson, he was a metal fabricator for Steward Steel in Sikeston before retiring.
On Nov. 5, 1949, he married Maglyn Lane Nelson, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Michael R. Nelson of Sikeston; two daughters, Brenda J. Pratt of Mablevale, Ark., and Karen J. Johnson of Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, Spurlin Nelson Sr. of Sikeston; one sister, Wanda L. Scarbrough of Marietta, Ga.; and eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He attended the First Church of the Nazarene of Sikeston and is survived by his church family, whom he loved very much.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. John Bouldrey, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Clay Pratt, Adam Pratt, Zachary Pratt, Brien Nelson, Justin Shock and Jimmy Johnson.
