Above: The 62nd Annual American Legion Cotton Carnival parade works its way down Malone Avenue in Sikeston Saturday morning. Over 200 floats were featured in the event. This year's theme was "Honoring Disabled Veterans" and "Our Youth Are Our Future." Right: Kelly High School marching band members perform during the parade. They were one of nine bands throughout the area to participate. Bottom: Cotton Carnival attendees enjoy a ride at the carnival Friday night at the Sikeston Jaycee rodeo grounds. Thousands of people flock to Sikeston for the annual carnival sponsored by American Legion Post 114. The five-day event concluded Saturday. Look for the winners of the Miss Cotton Carnival and Miss Sikeston contests in Monday's Standard Democrat.
