DEXTER -- Luther Allen Whitaker, 80, died May 29, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 24, 1926, in Catron, son of the late Hiram and Pearl Moore Whitaker, he had lived in Parma and moved to Dexter many years ago. He had worked in construction, farmed and had rental property.

On Nov. 16, 1945, at St. Louis, he married Virginia Pauline Parker who survives of Dexter.

Other survivors include: four sons, Aubrey Finch of Bernie and Marvin Finch, Bobby Finch and Joe Finch of Dexter; two daughters, Shirley Whitaker of Dexter and Virginia Hendrix of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Winford Whitaker of Puxico; three sisters, Blythe Lawrence of Wier, Kan., and Mary Dugger and Darlene Parks of Dudley; several half brothers and sisters; and six grandchildren, four great-

grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Louis Whitaker, Cecil Whitaker and Olen Whitaker; and one sister, Helen Reed.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Frank Townsend of Parma officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
