EAST PRAIRIE - Lucy Wilson, 90, died at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 19, 2007, in the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 3, 1917, at Wolf Island, to the late Charles D. and Rosa Mae Rice Wilson, she was a retired registered nurse. She worked at the Native Service Hospital in Dillingham, Alaska before moving back to Mississippi County in 1973. She was a member of the Wolf Island Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant with the Army Nurse Corps.
Survivors include: four sisters-in-law, Anna Wilson of East Prairie, Esther Wilson of Paducah, Ky., Valdine Wilson of Sacramento, Calif. and Imogene Wilson of Mansfield, Ill.
She was preceded in death by: four brothers, George Wilson, Charlie Wilson, Lindsay Wilson and Tom Wilson; and three sisters, Margaret Trevathan, Ella Newton and Mary Watson.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. George White will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: S.W. Stamper, Geary Wilson, Don Wilson, Richard Wilson, Shawn Wilson and Larry Newton.
