Charles Hawkins

ADVANCE - Charles Dillard Hawkins, 69, died Aug. 19, 2007, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born March 15, 1938, at Brownwood, son of the late Charles A. and Lula Kirk Hawkins, he was a foreman for the Missouri Highway Department in Advance and retired after 35 years of service. A 1956 graduate of Advance High School, he was a member of the Elks Lodge in Dexter and the Advance Eagles.

On June 26, 2004, at St. Louis, he married Yolande Foland, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Vince D. Hawkins and Jeffrey S. Hawkins of Advance, one sister, Bonnie Jo Harmon of St. Louis; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
