Your view: Time to resign
To the citizens of Scott County School District:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community, the school board, the teachers and all the students for your support since I became a school board member in April 2006.
Due to the controversy over my residency, I am resigning from the school board effective immediately. I don't want to distract from the school business any longer because the administration and teachers need to be focused 100 percent on the students.
My wife and I both attended Scott County Central; my two children attend Scott County Central, and my wife is also a teacher at Scott County Central. This is what makes my decision so difficult. We had a lot of positive plans for Scott County Central school district. I will continue to work on these issues that are important to our school district as a private citizen until the next election.
In the future, I would hope that the Southeast Missourian newspaper would focus more on issues that are important to the education of our children instead of property boundaries.
