CHAFFEE -- The Kelly Lady Hawks softball team rolled past the Chaffee Lady Red Devils on the road Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 shutout victory.
Kailie Hughes threw a no-hitter in the seven inning contest striking out 12 and walking four Chaffee batters.
"Kailie pitched an excellent game today," said Kelly head coach Rhonda Ratledge. "She had their hitters off balance and hit the mitt where she was supposed to."
On offense, the Lady Hawks were led by senior Brittany Ponder who went 3-
for-4 with two runs driven and had a double. Freshman London Backfisch also had three hits for Kelly.
Katee Moore had two hits, including a double, with two RBIs. Ashley Flahardy rounded out the solid hitting from the Lady Hawks with a triple an a RBI.
Kelly (2-0) travels to Perryville on Monday to take on St. Vincent at 4 p.m.
