EARLE, Ark. - Charles Leon Bowles, 74, died June 9, 2007, at his home.
Born March 9, 1933, in Bertrand, Mo., to the late Ottice and Nana Mary Blaylock Bowles, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Earle Church of God and had worked as a mechanic for Peoples Implement in Earle before retiring in 1998.
Survivors include: his wife, Shirley Bowles of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sue Bowles of Winter Garden, Fla., Roy and Dee Bowles of Morehouse, Mo., Ronald and Ellen Bowles of McCrory and Leon and Rachel Bowles of Earle; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy and Don Voss of Imperial, Mo., Maxine LeFleur of Sioux City, Iowa and Barbara and Tony Moore of Granbury, Texas; five brothers, Junior Bowles of Charleston, Mo., Clifton Bowles of Ponotoc, Miss., Bill Bowles of Centerhill, Fla., Don Bowles of Orlando, Fla. and Troy Bowles of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Mary Bowles of Poplar Bluff; and 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at the Earle Church of God, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the New Morley Cemetery.
Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne is in charge of arrangements.
