AAU state championships

On Feb. 24, Heartland wrestlers traveled to Northwest High School in House Springs to compete in the AAU State Wrestling Championships. Three state champions emerged from the team.

The results are as follows: Midget Blue Division 112 pound class, Josh Stinnett, first place; Schoolboy Blue Division 85 pound class, Cody Middleton, sixth place, 90 pound class, Trenton Gross, third place, 100 pound class, Jacob Stinnett third place. Cadet Gold Division 171 pound class, Darien Boyd, first place, Heavyweight 225 pound class, Ben Walker, first place. Cadet Blue Division 95 pound class, Blake Angle, fifth place, 125 pound class, Dustin Ruby, fourth place, 152 pound class, Zach Watson, second place, Clayton Driskill, third place.

Also competing for the club were Luke Collins, Logan McCabe, Garrett Middleton and Austin Curtis.

The Heartland Wrestling Banquet was held on Feb. 26 to allow parents and coaches to honor the wrestlers for all their hard work this season.
