Born Jan. 12, 1930, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of the late Herbert Spencer and Flora Lee Matthews, she was a member of the First Christian Church. She was the vice president of Mercantile Bank and later worked at Montgomery Bank before retiring.
Survivors include: one son, Matthew Sikes of Sikeston; one daughter, Lynda Jackson of Colorado Springs, Col.; two sisters, Alice Gardner and Juanita Edwards of Sikeston; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lynn Dempster, Benna Lee Matthews and Clara Matthews; and two brothers, Spencer Matthews and James Matthews.
Friends may call Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Sikeston under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Pangburn, former pastor of the First Christian Church of Sikeston, will officiate.
