ESSEX -- James Malloy, 74, died Feb. 28, 2007, at his home.
Born April 5, 1932, at Appleton, Ark., son of the late William Haney and Tellie Martin Malloy, he was a farmer. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex.
On Jan. 12, 1956, at Canalou, he married Shirley Jean Johnson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Jeffery Malloy of Dexter and James Malloy, Roger Malloy and William Malloy of Essex; four daughters, Dovie Haynes and Diane Lane of Essex, Marcella Burkhart of Gillette, Wyo., and Linda Simmons of Sikeston; one brother, Ernest "Butch" Malloy of Sikeston; four sisters, Hazel Vent of Oklahoma City, Okla., Etta Mae Walker and Nancy Makin of Benton, Ark., and Anna Pearson of Sikeston; and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Larie Burdine will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
