CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Clifford Leo Wheeler, 78, died March 1, 2007, at his home.
Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Bell City, son of the late William Claud and Lee Myra Harvey Wheeler, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from April 27, 1951, to April 18, 1953. A charter member of LaCroix United Methodist Church, he was also a member of VFW and Elks, in which he was a former exalted ruler, and worked as a carpet installer.
In 1950, at Piggott, Ark., he married Mollie Horner who survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Clifford L. Wheeler Jr. of Sycamore, Ill.; three daughters, Donna Wheeler and Lee Robinson of Cape Girardeau and Debbie Hageman of Lees Summit; two brothers, Herbert Wheeler of California and Claud Ray Wheeler of Saint Joseph; and six grandchildren and three great-
Three brothers also preceded him in death in addition to his parents.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Lex Horner will officiate.
Graveside military rites by the Missouri Honors Team will follow at noon at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
