Born March 13, 1937, at Marked Tree, Ark., daughter of the late William and Dortch Hilliard Jester, she was a member of The Christian Tabernacle in Sikeston and was employed for 22 years as a nurse's aide for the Visiting Nurses Association.
On Dec. 26, 1957, in Morley, she married Jack Miller, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Terry Wayne Miller of Matthews and Anthony Dale Miller of Bell City; one daughter, Beverly Jean Gibson of Benton; three brothers, Garrett Jester of Wanatchie, Wash., Lloyd Jester of Kenosha, Wis. and Harold Jester of Sikeston; two sisters, Brenda Taylor of Benton and Betsy Jester of Oran; one half sister, Mary June Makzurkiewitz of Kankakee, Ill.; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Melinda Goering on Jan. 21, 2007; two brothers, Peter Jester and Vernon Jester; and two sisters, Marie Taylor and Opal Pharr.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Eric McDougal, pastor of Christian Tabernacle, will officiate. He will be assisted by her brother, Garrett Jester.
Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
