CHARLESTON - Mary Alice Neal Guthrie, 60, died June 17, 2007 at her home.
She was born October 9, 1946 in Dogwood to the late John Henry and Manda Mae Bohannon Neal. She lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the First General Baptist Church. She served as a Cub Scout leader for four years to Den 14 of Pack 33, now Troop 323.
On July 15, 1966, she married Nathern Guthrie who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan and Maya Guthrie of Bertrand and John and Becky Guthrie of East Prairie; three daughters, Alice Neal and Manda Chessor of Charleston and Lisa Radica of Rockford, Ill.; one brother, Bill Neal of East Prairie; four sisters, Roxie Abernathy of Illinois, Dolly Hall of Texas, Emma Jo Shrum of Wisconsin and Mildred Moore of Michigan; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Neal, Tom Neal and Bob Price and by one sister, Marcella Billington.
Friends may call today from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Bill Meeks, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Robbie Stagner, Clay Guthrie, Bill Tatum, Tim Massey, Bobby Jones and Bruce Groves. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Guthrie and James Hurt.
