SIKESTON -- Mr. and Mrs. David F. Hough have announced the engagement of their daughter, Laura Deshea Hough, to Wesley DeLoach Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith of Greenwood, Miss.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, the future bride is a reporter for the Desota Times in Memphis, Tenn.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of University of Mississippi. He is the marketing and entertainment director for River City Management Group in Memphis, Tenn.

An Aug. 26 wedding is planned.
