DEXTER - Lola May Graves, 81, died Aug. 3, 2006, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 7, 1925, at Risco, she was the daughter of the late John Henry "Friday" and Ora Bessie Walker Mims. Formerly of Malden, she moved to Dexter in 1958 and had worked in the packing department at the International Hat Factory.
On March 30, 1944, in Piggott, Ark., she married William M. "Slim" Graves who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1980.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Paul and Marvin Mims; and one sister, Bertha Garner.
Survivors include: one son, Melvin Graves of Dexter; two daughters, Mary Lou Taylor of Dexter and Marie Greene of Chino Valley, Ariz.; two brothers, Freeman Mims of Corning, Ark., and Leroy Mims of Essex; one sister, Wilma June Maloney of Dexter; and nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Clifford Wray of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
